1972, Peter Bos, the visionary behind the Legendary, Inc., companies, has exceeded
expectations and set new benchmarks of quality in the Southeast. As the developer
of some of the largest and most prestigious resorts in Florida, the Legendary
name is synonymous with full-service hospitality and outstanding real estate developments,
including residential, retail, resort hotel and office projects along the Emerald
Coast. Together, with his son Rik and the Legendary team, they lead the Legendary
brand of quality and exceptional service to new heights.
The Legendary Sory 2007-
Legendary's Harbor front condominium, Emerald Grande, celebrates it's grand opening
in June with Legendary Resorts providing hospitality services. New Orleans icon
restaurant, Commander's Palace announces plan to open at HarborWalk Village in
Summer 2008, along with Pat O'Brien's, Jester Mardi Gras Daiquiris, Water Grill
and more exciting retail tenants. Legendary and Yacht Club of the Americas establish
a joint venture - Legendary Yacht Club - to sell boat slips with 5 star amenities
such as member only pool, restaurant, fitness club and reciprocal use of other
YCOA locations in Key West, Bahamas and more. Numerous Legendary companies including
Legendary Realty, Tony's Ristorante, Rutherfords 465, Regatta Bay Golf & Country
Club, Destin Commons and Legendary Marine & Marina receive prestigious Best
of the Emerald Coast awards. 2006- More than 400 owners, realtors
and guests celebrate the opening of the Grande Vista Level, which stands 63 feet
above the harbor. Legendary, Inc., sponsors Outlook 06, a forum on the trends
and future of the Emerald Coast tourism and property market. Speakers included
nationally recognized real estate experts, Barbara Corcoran and Diane Durkin.
Legendary, Inc. honored with Best of the Emerald Coast Corporate Citizen Award
from Emerald Coast Magazine readers. 2005- Emerald Grande becomes
the most successful fractional resort ever launched with the highest sales volume
on record. Emerald Grande breaks ground and the growth of HarborWalk Village continues.
Legendary Marina grows to four locations with its new opening in Panama City,
and is ranked in the top 100 of 2005 by Boating Industry Magazine. Jet Ultra Lounge
opens with a record-breaking New Years Eve celebration. 2004-
Legendary Marina expands and marine artist Wyland adds to Whaling Wall 88, making
it the World's Largest Mural. Legendary Marine grows to be the market leader for
boat sales and service with operations in Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Gulf Shores,
Alabama. 2003- Destin Commons opens.
This lifestyle retail shopping center becomes the place to shop, dine and a great
source of civic pride. Legendary begins operations in the retail sector, including
Distinctively Destin, Nautical Treasures and Crab Island Convenience. 2002-
Rik Bos joins Legendary after spending time in the private funds industry following
graduation from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration in 2000. Legendary
Marina is selected by international marine artist Wyland, to paint Whaling Wall
88 for his worldwide arts in education campaign. Legendary Marine continues to
expand beyond Destin to Gulf Shores, Alabama. 2001-
Legendary Marine opens in Destin to include sales and service operations of premier
boat brands such as Chaparal, Prusuit, Luhrs and Formula. 2000-
Legendary expands its restaurant operations to include Rutherford's 465 and Tony's
Ristorante. 1999- Legendary joint ventures
Destin Commons with Turnberry Associates, a nationally recognized shopping center
and resort residential developer from Aventura, Florida. 1991-1998-
The Legendary family of companies continues to grow with acquisitions of property
and developments, including Regatta Bay Golf & Country Club, HarborWalk, Legendary
Marina, Harry T's Boathouse, Legendary Builders, Legendary Realty and Legacy on
the Bay Apartments. The vision for Destin Commons is initiated in 1995. 1995-1991-
Peter Bos sells Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort to form Legendary and launches
additional Legendary companies. 1981- Acquires 100% ownership of Sandestin Golf
& Beach Resort and expands master plan and land acquisition to its current
size of more than 2,400 acres. 1979- Acquires an interest in Sandestin Golf &
Beach Resort and assumes management, planning and development responsibility to
more than double the resort's master plan. 1976-1978-
Peter Bos continues to expand his real estate holdings and development with communities
like Lake Mandarin; L'Atrium; The Plantation in Jacksonville; and The Hyatt Key
West. A custom home building company on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina is
also formed. 1975- Bos & Associates
is formed and later becomes Bos Group, a development and consulting company. 1972-
Peter Bos makes his first of many visits to Destin while searching for development
opportunities along the North Gulf Coast. On the first visit he inquires about
purchasing the property on which HarborWalk Village will be built. This commences
the 34-year vision for what Peter refers to as 'the singularly most beautiful
piece of property he has ever seen anywhere.' 1969-
Peter Bos begins his real estate career working for a Jacksonville developer on
large country club communities like Inverness in Birmingham Stone Bridge in Memphis
Baymeadows in Jacksonville and condominium and rental apartment communities throughout
Florida. 1968- Peter Bos graduates
from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, moves to Tampa and begins
his career in the Hospitality Industry at Busch Gardens. |
